Dog lovers in Scottsdale are gearing up for a tail-wagging affair at the upcoming Pup-a-Palooza Spring Festival set to take place on April 20 at Chaparral Park. The festival promises a fun-filled day for furry friends and their human companions, all while supporting a noble cause.
Pup-a-Palooza Spring Festival invites dog moms and dads to deck out their pups in spring-themed costumes and join the lively pup parade starting at 11 a.m. Coordinating outfits with your canine companion is encouraged for those eager to strut their stuff. Beyond the parade, guests can indulge in an array of activities, including shopping at local vendors, enjoying food and drinks from various vendors, capturing memorable moments at the pet photo booth, engaging in kids’ activities, and grooving to live music. Additionally, there’s a raffle.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Oakley’s Oath, a local nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness for dog safety during home renovation projects. Founded by Julie and Maury Kessler, Oakley’s Oath stemmed from a tragic incident involving the loss of their beloved dog, Oakley, to an accidental drowning during a home renovation in 2021. Determined to prevent similar tragedies, Kessler has transformed her family’s heartbreaking experience into a vital safety initiative.
Kessler, an Arizona native and University of Arizona alum, is an advocate for child and animal safety. Through Oakley’s Oath, she aims to educate homeowners and contractors on the risks associated with home renovations, particularly concerning the safety of children and pets. By providing practical guidelines, Oakley’s Oath strives to safeguard families and their furry companions from preventable accidents.
Tickets for the Pup-a-Palooza Spring Festival are priced at $10 for early-bird purchases and $15 at the door, with children under 12 enjoying free admission.
