Tucked away next to Liberty Station in far North Scottsdale, Poppy’s Office, a speakeasy known for its intimate ambiance and distinctive tribute to the late Paul Keeler, is stirring up excitement with the launch of its new bar and bites menu.
Poppy’s Office is a heartfelt homage to a beloved family man and the founder of Keeler Hospitality Group, Paul Keeler. The brainchild of his son Matt Keeler and nurtured by the combined efforts of the Keeler family, including Paul’s wife Judy and their other son Ryan, Poppy’s Office opened its doors in the fall of 2023. The venue serves as a living tribute, encapsulating Paul’s legacy through his favorite things, now including a refined menu that marries craft cocktails with gourmet snacks.
Designed to replicate Paul’s personal office, the space is adorned with family photos, treasured mementos, and memorabilia from his favorite sports teams, along with many “Poppyisms”—the insightful phrases and quips Paul was known for sharing. The nickname “Poppy,” given to Paul by his grandchildren, became a term of endearment within the hospitality community.
This season, Poppy’s Office is excited to introduce its patrons to an updated selection of craft cocktails and gourmet snacks. The new bar menu features standout drinks such as Grandma’s Cooking, featuring brown butter washed Haku vodka, butternut squash, acid-adjusted orange juice, demerara, and herbs. The Down to Earth cocktail also delights with Zephyr gin, purple sweet potato, crème de cacao, Lillet, lemon juice, and black walnut bitters. For those with a taste for the refined, Something Brown mixes WhistlePig Piggyback rye whiskey with simple syrup, angostura bitters, and a twist of lemon. And not to be missed, The Best Gosh Darn Espresso Martini promises an unbeatable experience for martini aficionados.
In addition to the beverage highlights, Poppy’s Bites bar menu introduces an array of delectable small plate options. From an assortment of bruschetta to a charcuterie board featuring rotational selections of meat and cheese, fresh fruit, and candied nuts, the menu caters to a variety of tastes. Snackables like hummus with serrano pepper, deviled eggs, olive medley, and marinated sweet peppers round out the offerings, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Poppy’s Office is a charming spot to celebrate life’s moments, big and small, in a setting that’s as meaningful as it is flavorful. With its new bar and bites menu, Poppy’s Office continues to weave Paul legacy into the evolving tale of Scottsdale’s dining scene and offers a unique and delicious experience.
