While golf is a game of skill, precision and practice, it also has a fashion and gadget element that is fun to explore. When taking to the course and trying to improve, it’s always nice to “look the part” and it’s also helpful to have the equipment and accessories that can help up one’s game. Let’s take a look at some of the hot trends in golf fashion, gear, equipment, and accessories in 2022.

Golf enthusiasts and pros alike opt for fashion that is matched with function including free-flowing smart fabrics, sustainable fashion, and high-performance materials that offer comfort and style. Athleisure continues to be on trend for 2022 and golf fashion fans can expect to see block stripes and bold prints on the course. Popular brands that are right at home on the green include Bad Birdie, Adidas, Under Armour, Birds of Condor, Random Golf Club, Malbon Golf, 7Diamonds, Nike Golf, Puma, Hugo Boss, Travis Mathew, Lululemon, Waggle Golf, and more. These fashions are also likely to be seen at this month’s Waste Management Phoenix Open, which is not only the “greatest show on grass,” but promises some fashion trendspotting.

New gadgets and accessories designed to help golfers up their game are also hot in 2022. The Blue Tees Golf Series 3 Max Rangefinder features adaptive switch technology that automatically accounts for changes in elevation to give players the most accurate distance to target; the pulse vibration feature lets players know when the rangefinder is fully locked on; and the auto ambient screen self-adjusts to brightness, helping players clearly see the display in all conditions. It also has a built-in magnetic strip allowing players to hang it securely on the golf cart.

Another must-have gadget for the greens is the Bushnell Phantom 2 Golf GPS, which can automatically help golfers recognize their location and display the distance to the front, middle and back of the green, giving golfers information to help them choose the right club for their shot. It also features a large clear screen, 15-hour battery life and built-in “BITE” magnet, allowing players to mount it on their cart. The Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors (3rd Gen) is another great pick for 2022. It boasts 14 ultralight sensors that attached to nearly any golf grip and tract shot data such as average distance for each club, fairway hits and advanced analytics including strokes gained.

Some additional helpers on the course include accessories like the Milliard Extra Large Organizer, designed to store golf equipment and accessories neatly and systematically; the Garmin Approach S10 Lightweight GPS Golf Watch, which can provide distances from all directions (greens, hazards and doglegs) to help golfers adjust their game; and the GolfBuddy Voice 2 Golf GPS/Rangefinder, a tiny talking GPS device that can vocalize yardages and clips easily onto a belt or hat.

Those that are starting out in golf might select a complete set of starter clubs from a well-known brand such as Top Flite, TaylorMade, Callaway, Wilson or Strata. There are a variety of clubs designed for men and women, as well as right and left-handers. Ball selection is important too.

When starting out, don’t hesitate to talk to a pro at a golf club like Quintero or sign up for a few professional lessons. There are so many intricacies of the game, and beginners will have a lot more fun with a few tips in their back pocket.
