2019 Maintenance and Operations Override
The Peoria Unified School District is nestled in the Northwest Valley of Peoria, Arizona and is home to 42 stellar public schools that are unique and created to fit the needs of all students.
This November, voters who reside in the Peoria Unified School District will exercise their local budget control to vote for Peoria Unified’s maintenance and operations override.
The override would keep $26 million per year circulating through the district currently used for people and programs and add an additional $4 million in funding for safety initiatives and additional staff compensation.

Love Our Schools Day is Coming Soon
Love Our Schools Day is happening on October 26 across Peoria Unified. Community members can spend the morning volunteering at their neighborhood Peoria school. Volunteer assignments range from campus beautification to student and staff appreciation and are available to anyone who wants to volunteer. The Peoria Unified School District was recently awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.
The Government of Finance Officers Association granted the Peoria Unified School District a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the fiscal year ending in 2018. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant achievement by the district. The award also reflects a high level of commitment to fiscal integrity and management. To receive the award, the district must satisfy specific guidelines for effective, high-quality financial reporting recognized by school business officials.
