Peoria is set to welcome two new hotels, a Home2 Suites by Hilton and a Springhill Suites by Marriott, at the northwest corner of Jomax Road and Lake Pleasant Parkway. This development is a response to the area’s significant residential growth over the past few decades, which has created a demand for more hospitality options.
The 7-acre site has been zoned for commercial use since 1992. The city, developer, and local community representatives have worked together to ensure the new hotels will blend seamlessly with the surrounding area.
Construction for the Home2 Suites by Hilton will start this summer, with the hotel featuring 103 suites and expected to open in late 2025. The Springhill Suites by Marriott will follow, with its 97 suites anticipated to open in late 2026 or early 2027.
Revenue from bed tax collections will bolster Peoria’s General Fund, supporting vital services such as police and fire-medical, and enhancing the city’s parks and trail system.
Developers are also planning to attract high-quality restaurants and service-based retail businesses to the adjoining 2-acre site, further enhancing Peoria’s appeal to both business travelers and tourists.
