Michele Guy Syne, P.E., P.Eng., C.Ht., is on a mission to help others to “live inspired lives” and realize that anything is possible. To do this, she founded UniQuely Northern in 2008.
As a certified hypnotherapist and empowerment coach, she sees the greatness in her clients and uses hypnosis and strategic intervention to support her clients in removing limiting beliefs and patterns of behavior that no longer serve them. Working together with her clients, she helps them to change their lives for the better.
Michele explains that “hypnotherapy is one of the oldest and most natural modes of healing.”
“Hypnosis is a process that produces relaxation, the distraction of the conscious mind, heightened suggestibility, and increased awareness, allowing access to the subconscious mind through the imagination,” she says. “It also provides the ability to experience thoughts and images as real.”
Through hypnosis, Michele can help clients to reprogram their conscious mind and change their perspective. “If you change your perspective, you can change your life,” she says. “Hypnotherapy is a simple and easy way to reprogram our subconscious mind to achieve the things you want to in your life or change your behavior in desired areas.”
Michele explains further: “The brain is made up of two parts: the conscious mind and the subconscious mind…. Your conscious minds ‘sees’ a certain reality. However, your creative, subconscious mind lacks the ability to distinguish what is real from what is imagined. So your body is like a robot, responding to messages buried in the subconscious, and acting independently of what you may be consciously wanting to achieve. What hypnosis does is it busies, or relaxes the conscious mind, which temporarily gets the conscious filter out of the way to allow me to enter suggestions into your subconscious mind. It is not only simple but an extremely relaxing experience.”
Some things that Michele has helped clients address include addictions (such as smoking), weight loss, eating disorders, physical and emotional pain, relationship issues, realizing their dreams and aspirations, and much more. “Hypnotherapy and the work I do with clients goes to the heart of whatever the issue is,” Michele says. “It can be a total make over for your life if you allow it to be. Anything is possible.”
So how does a hypnosis session work? “During a hypnosis session, you will be in control at all times. I cannot make you do anything that you would not otherwise do in a conscious state. Throughout the session you may drift in and out, hearing me consciously sometimes. Regardless, your subconscious mind will take in everything I say.”
Michele says she enjoys her work and has been a coach all of her life. She sees pain as an opportunity for growth; “pain is inevitable, suffering is a choice.” She shares that her deepest satisfaction takes place when a client has an “ah hah!” moment and their life lights up.
“Hypnosis works best when the client is committed and is ‘all in.’ If you surrender to the process it can do great things,” she says. “I see everyone’s greatness and know that all things are possible.”
