Volunteers Needed at Lake Pleasant Regional Park

Have you recently found yourself with free time on your hands? Perhaps you’re newly retired, are home from college for the summer, or maybe you’re looking for a way to give back to your community? If this sounds like you, a community volunteer position with the Maricopa County Parks and Recreation Department may be the perfect place for you to utilize your customer service skills while enjoying our beautiful open spaces!

Currently, Lake Pleasant Regional Park is looking to fill community volunteer positions in the park’s Discovery Center and entry stations. Individuals working in the park’s entry station can look forward to greeting park visitors as they enter the park, answering questions about the park’s services and amenities, and collecting fees. Individuals filling these positions will work in an air-conditioned facility. Depending on the park’s traffic flow, volunteers may be at the drive-up window for an extended period interacting with visitors.

Volunteers in the park’s Discovery Center will greet guests, interact with individuals who have questions about the park exhibits and retail products, and provide information on the services and amenities offered throughout the park and around the facility. Individuals filling these roles will be in an air-conditioned facility and may be on their feet for an extended period.

Those who are interested should note that community volunteer positions are generally on a set schedule with regular duties. As an integral component of the park’s operations team, the ideal candidates for both roles should be reliable, flexible, and possess exemplary customer service skills. A valid driver’s license is required for these positions.
