Scottsdale North has yet another new luxury community on its way. Serene is the latest project from Scottsdale-based Sonora West Development. Sonora has been a longtime supporter of the Scottsdale North community and during that time completed nearly $2 billion in luxury projects. The Serene community will provide the luxury buyer home options starting at $2.5 million.

Scott Pfeiffer, founder of Sonora West Development in 2000, released a statement that the first two model homes are nearly complete. The community will be made up of 21 semi-custom homes near Dynamite and Alma School roads.

Sonora broke ground in May on Serene and now is preparing to officially unveil the project. Homes are available in four floor plans ranging between 2,825 and 3,730 square feet on lots ranging between 12,000 to 18,000 square feet. An invite-only VIP preview of part of Serene is set for Dec. 12, followed by a grand opening party in 2025.

Pfeiffer touts the project as a high-end, lock-and-leave, zero-maintenance residence – a residential option that many of the Scottsdale North seasonal residents are looking for. Of the 21 homes in Serene, three homes have sold even before the models are open.

Nestled under Pinnacle Peak, just north of Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale, Serene offers contemporary, modern design inspired by the homes from coastal states. Swaback Architects has been brought in as the primary design team for the project, while Est Est Inc. will be providing interior designs. Mike Domer, an associate broker at Launch Powered by Compass and a partner in the project, is handling the sales of the community. The project has already cost an estimated $10 million just to improve the land and prepare for development since Sonora acquired the 10-acre parcel two years ago.

This is not Sonora’s only project in the area. Pfeiffer’s group is also looking at 31 custom lots near Pima Road and Stagecoach Pass in Carefree. These will feature homes ranging between 4,000 and 6,000 square feet and include guest house and RV garage options. Prices here are expected to start in the $3 million range.
